Re-operative surgery requires extra expertise in thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

There are many considerations including the need for additional surgery vs other treatments, the concern for the nerves to the voicebox and the parathyroid glands. Prior surgery makes every subsequent surgery much more challenging.

Fortunately, Dr. Temmermand has significant experience with re-operative thyroid surgery, both in cancer and non-cancerous cases. Even in this setting, we still recommend a minimally invasive, outpatient surgery to expedite your recovery.
